About us
We are a group of students and young people across the UK who want to raise awareness of the links between global environmental change and health, and to protect and promote human health in the face of climate change.

We're always happy to hear from interested students or young people interested in climate, sustainability and health, or from less young people who would like to help us out in our aims: if you'd like to be involved or to donate, get in touch via healthyplanet@medsin.org.

Join us in Warsaw!

We're recruiting our team to go to COP19 in Warsaw at the end of this year; could it include you? Are you interested in international politics and the effects of climate change on global health? Do you thrive in a busy environment and enjoy working to create change, meeting people and developing a variety of new skills?

Then why not apply to be part of our dynamic team at COP19 in Warsaw, Poland (11th-22nd November) to help raise awareness of this issue and gain experience of lobbying at an international event?  For more info click here.

How to apply:
The application closes on the 12th June and you can apply at http://tinyurl.com/nnb254s

(do read the full info first though!)
 Our vision is a world in which:
There is widespread awareness of the links between climate change and ecological damage and human health;
where the health co-benefits of carbon reduction to populations, and the many benefits of sustainable healthcare are both recognised and realised;
& where ambitious and equitable mitigation and adaptation policies are put into place - locally, nationally and globally - to protect and promote health.

Our mission is:
  • To learn, to teach and to raise awareness, formally and informally, about the health effects of global environmental change and benefits of mitigation;
  • To act within our sphere of influence in order to encourage current and future health professionals and others with responsibility for health systems to minimise their personal and professional environmental impact;
  • To call on the UK government to uphold the 2008 Climate Change Act nationally and to play its' part in supporting adaptation internationally;
  • To call for global health and development work to prioritise sustainability and resilience as well as equity and improved health.
